09-10 Indoor Track & Field Practice and Meet Information
- Physicals: Indoor Track & Field Athletes must have physical papers or physical recerts complete by January to compete in meets. Athletes attending practices do not need a physical..
- Purpose of Indoor Track & Field:
- General Strength and Conditioning for spring season (this includes lifting)
- Oppurtunity to compete in a limited number of meets
- Fun and Enjoyment of being on a Team
- General Event Specific Technique to prepare athletes for the short outdoor season
- Practices- See schedule for days. Practice will start at 3:30 each day and end at 5:20.
- Practices are optional for athletes not competing in meets.
- Practices will gradually increase in difficulty through the season for you to improve.
- One day during the week will be set aside for event specific technique work
- Participation in Meets:
- Athletes must attend 2-3 practices the week prior a the meet. We do not want to take an untrained athlete to a meet and have them experience and injury.
- To compete in events requiring specific training (i.e. pole vault) you must be cleared by the head coach
- Participation in F&M clinics: You may attend the clinics if you so choose. The booster club will pay for your 1st clinic fee if you request it from Coach Koser
- Equipment: Bring warm clothes, hats, and gloves so we can take advantage of some good weather when we can and due to limited space inside. A good pair of running shoes is a must!!!
*Unscheduled practices are scheduled by athletes and coaches to work or some specific technique, or can be an F&M clinic or open weight room practice that is not on the schedule
2010 F&M Clinics- January 13, 20, 27 @ 7:00-9:30 pm
- F&M is hosting 4 event specific clinics. They are excellent ways to learn the fundamentals and drills for different events.
- They are for anyone interested in: pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, high jump, and hurdles. To be honest, this is the perfect way to learn a new event and well worth the cost
- Cost is $10, The Booster Club will pay for the first clinic you attend if you helped with the fundraiser
- Travel: Find out if others are going to car pool. Contact Coach Koser if you want to go but can not find a ride.
