States
What a wonderful way to cap off an incredible season with the programs first trip to States by placing 8th.
Heading into the meet, based on the girls District performances, we were looking at 10-11 place, but they all improved their times from last week. Girls ran an average of 20 seconds faster for a total gain of 1:40, which made the difference in placing and enough to overtake the District champs.
With the pressure off from fighting to qualify for the next race, their domineer was more relaxed and we able to stick to game plan and finish very strong. It was exciting to see them moving up in position during the race. As a coach, I am very proud of this unique group of young ladies, not only for their talent as runners, but also their strength, compassion, spirit and unity as a team that has made this season so special.
Austin had a very nice race finishing with virtually the same time as last week on the same course with an additional hill at the end. To have a young athlete, only a sophomore, competing in the State Meet individually is huge and says a lot about his potential for the next few years. Realistically, if we can cut his finishing place at States in half each season, he can be on the medal stand his senior year. Looking forward to building on his success for next season.
Special thank you to the parents/family members and boys team (green suits) for the extra support at this big meet.

Donegal Girls placed 2nd in AA race at Districts with only 13 points behind 1st place York Suburban. Donegal Girls are the only L-L League girls' team to advance to the State Championship at Hershey, November 1st. What an awesome day! Girls team makes the programs first ever trip to States with Alayna De Bruin medaling at 19th place. All our young ladies ran great races today, but Audrey Lloyd really stepped it up to run a personal best 21:32 to move up to 3rd for our team.
Very proud to see all their hard work and extra effort pay off in achieving their goals this season.

HS League Meet
An incredible afternoon of racing for Donegal Cross Country. Our girls placed a school record 5th place. Alayna DeBruin place 18th and Tess Fernald placed 20th to earn medals in a field of 144 runners. Just missing a medal was Sami Stoner in 31st place.
By surpassing McCaskey with our tight pack of athletes, the girls were able to outperformed their season record.
It is always a good day when a school of our size can compete with the bigger schools.
Our boys had a nice showing by matching their season team record with their placement in the race.
Austin Burkholder finished very strong and was able to earn the 22nd medal out of 164 runners. Zach Miller was close with his 31st place
Both squads are looking to catapult off this afternoons race and into a strong performance at the District Meet next Wednesday at Hershey.
