Districts-The girls' team won the AA District 3 Championship by placing 5 runners in the top 30. Seneca Straub, Katelyn Deibler, and Sami Stoner all medaled. Seneca, Katelyn, Tess Fernald, Taylor Nissly, and Miranda Nagle ran personal best times. Congrats to them and Jess Weber for qualifying for the state meet. On the boys side, Zach Miller ran a season best, medaled, and qualified for the state meet. Silas Buckwalter, Keith Atayde, and Jacob Hess all ran personal best times. Adam Burkholder rounded out the team as they finished 17th overall.
Leagues- The girls team placed the best they have ever placed at leagues, 3rd overall. They were paced by Sami Stoner and Katelyn Deibler, 8th and 18th respectively.
Zach Miller lead the boys with a 38th place finish.
LMH JH Iron Bridge Invite both the boys and girls finished 8th over all! Aedan, Matt, and Megan all medaled!!!
At Lebanon
Gettysburg Invite - It was a beautiful day on a flat course, but the 1st mile was swampy from rains the night and week prior to the races. The boys lead by medal winner Zach Miller placed 21 out of 28 teams. Keith Atayde ran a season and personal best time by about 50 seconds. In the boys' JV race, Hayden Smith lead the team with his best performance of the season.
The girls' varsity team placed second to AAA powerhouse CB West. Medaling were Sami Stoner and Katelyn Deibler with6th and 9th place finished respectively. The girls' JV squad placed 6th out of 12 scoring teams and were lead by Mackenzie Shirk.
At Lanc. Catholic- Girls lost a close one by one point to Manheim Central. It was a set back, but the team is still focised on Leagues and winning a district championship. The boys won their 4th section meet by beating ELCO.
Home Meet-The HS girls ran their section record to 6-0 by beating Etown, Cocalico, and AC. They had a 46 second spread from 1st runner to 8th runner to place 5 runners in the top 8. The boys HS beat Annville, but dropped section meets to Etown and Cocalico. They are now 3-3.
Manheim Township- The HS girls team lost a close one to Manheim Township, but did pick up wins against Cedar Crest and section opponent Columbia. They are now 3-0 in the section. The Boys team picked up a win and lost to both CC and MT.
Annville Gerber Invite- The JH girls' team ran well and placed 3rd out of 10 teams. Megan Myers lead the way with a 7th place finish and time of 14:07. Also medaling for the girls were Milli Straub, and Ella DeBruin. On the boys side, Matt Wallace ran 12:54 to place 20th and earn a medal.
Ben Bloser Bulldog Invite- Many personal and season best times were run at Big Spring HS (site of District meet) Saturday. The girls rose to the challenge of facing several very good teams by winning the AA girls' team title. Katelyn Deibler was 6th overall with a time of 20:10. Also medaling were Sami Stoner, Tess Fernald, and Seneca Straub. On the boys side, Zack Miller medaled and the boys team without 3 of their top 6 runners placed 20th overall.
Ephrata- It was a beautiful sunny day for the runners. A little on the warm side, but near the above 90's we dealt with last week. In the HS boys race, Zach Miller lead the boys with a time of 18:22 as the boys beat Northern Lebanon to start their section competition. They fell to Lancaster Mennonite, but they are extremely young and inexperienced so hopefully we can run them tougher by the end of the year.
The HS girls' team did start their section competition off 2-0, but also beat one of the top 5 teams in the league with a win vs. Ephrata. The Ephrata girls went out hard, but the Donegal runners were patient and slowly moved up in the race.Katelyn Diebler lead the girls with a time of 20:44.
At the JH level, both the boys and girls started the season 2-0 by beating LM and NL. The boys had 4 runners under 14 minutes and were lead by Aedan Wilkinson with a time of 12:43. The girls were lead by Megan Myers in 14:12.
