2012 District Results, 4 to states

Omey Tibasima captured silver at this weekend's district 3 track championships with about a 1 foot PR in the Triple jump. 5 of his 6 jumps were farther than his previous PR set this season. His jump leaves him 1.5 inches short of the school record, and leaves him with another oppurtunitty to reach that mark next week at states. Joining Omey next week at states will be his relay teammates of Johnnie Martin, Griffin Libhart, and Sebastian Hall. The 4 combined to finish 5th in the 4x100 in a school record time of 43.19. Other performances include Karlee Farr's 8th place medal in the 400 meters and Whitney Blouch's semifinal finish of 12.91 in the 100m and 26.52 in the 200 meters. Both combined with Miranda Eichelberger and Sammi Yoder to set another school record in the 4x100m relay with a time of 50.98. Griffin Libhart ran 22.31 in the 200m semifinal while Johnnie Martin and Sebastian Hall ran 11.30 and 11.41 in the 100m race respectively. Also competing was Phil Hess who threw the Javelin and had a throw of 149' 4".

Great Performances at Leagues

The 2012 LL League Meet was a great oppurtunity for several athletes accomplich huge goals. Leading the way was Griffin Libhart. After a 7th place finish in the 100m (3rd best time ever at Donegal), Griffin came out quick in the 200m and left the competition behind by winning gold. His time 22.24 was the 2nd fastest time in school history. Joinging him on the podium for the boys were Omey Tibasima in the Triple Jump with silver (43' 2"), Phil Hess at 5th in javelin, and Jonah Eisenhart in the Long Jump at 19' 11.5.

Girls winning medals were: Karlee Farr, 3rd in the 400 meters (59.98, #3 all time at Donegal), Whitney Blouch, 6th in the 200m (26.68. #3 all time at Donegal), and the relay teams of Miranda Eichelberger, Sammi Yoder, Whitney Blouch, and Karlee Farr. The combined to finish 3rd in the 4x100 with a school record time of 51.04 and 5th in the 4x400m (4:14.72, 10th all time at Donegal)

Great Weekend at Battle for Bridge/ Blue Streaks Relays

Both the boys and girls teams combined with Columbia and Annville to win the Battle for the Bridge trophy in the Lancaster VS Tork side of the River. Two outstanding highlights were Phil Hess's javelin throw of 167' 10" to place him 9th on the Donegal All-time Honor Roll and Karlee Farr's 400m time of 60.6 to move her to 5th on the Donegal All-time Honor Roll. Boys earning victories were Omey Tibasima in the Triple jump, setting a meet record with a jump of 42' 10", and the relay team of Griffin Libhart, Jun Choi, Omey Tibasima, and Sebastian Hall. Girls earning victories were Karlee Farr (400m) and the 4x100 relay team of Farr, Yoder, Eichelberger, and Blouch.

Saturday at the Blue Streaks relays the relay team of Karlee Farr, Miranda Eichelberger, Kylee Bair, and Whitney Blouch combined to win the 4x200 meter relay. Later they combined to set a new school record in the 4x100m relay with a time of 51.3.

Girls win vs LMH, Boys lose a close one

The girl's moved their record to 5-0 for the season with a win vs Lancaster Mennonite. The boys were in a close one til the end, but just didn't quite have the performances to pull off the victory.

 

Tribe win two in the Rain vs Northern Lebanon

Both the boys and girls team came out of a rainy cold meet with wins. The girls were lead by double individual event winners Bethany Gohn (1600m, 3200m), Whitney Blouch (100m, 200m), and Kylee Bair (100m Hurdles, 300 IM hurdles). Also winning events for the girls were Sydney Wareham (800m), Mary Lynam (Jav), Metteah Fiske (Disc), and Sammi Yoder (400m). The girls also won 2 of the 3 relays and won by a score of 90-50..

For the boys, Omey Tibasima (HJ, TJ), Michael Hiestand (1600m, 3200m), and Phil Hess (Jav, Disc) were all double winners. Others winning events were Tim Daly (800m), Johnnie Martin (100m), Griffin Libhart (200m), and Jonah Eisenhart (LJ). The boys swept all three relays and won 101.5 to 48.5.

Warmest Solanco Meet in years yeilds positive results

The boys team put forth an impressive team effort to finish second to host school Solanco in a fairly warm Solanco Invite. Phil Hess came up 2 individual Golds winning the Javelin and Discus. Omey Tibasima (Triple Jump), Griffin Libhart (200m), and Johnnie Martin (100m) all won events to take gold as well. Other boys placing were:

200m: Johnnie Martin, 2nd, and Hall 5th

The girls ended up placing 3rd in the meet. They were lead by 1st place finishes by Karlee Farr (400m), Kylee Bair (300m Hurdles), Mary Lynam (Jav), 3200m relay team of Audrey Lloyd, Sydney Wareham, Mary Lynam, Lizzy Keener, and the 400 m relay team of Miranda Eichelberger, Sammi Yoder, Whitney Blouch, and Karlee Farr. Also, Whitneys 200m prelim time of 27.1 was fastest for the 4th best time in school history on the Donegal Honor roll.

Track heats up at the Hempfield Invite

The weather warmed up, and several athletes ran season bests, medals, Donegal Honor Roll Times, and School Records.

The girl's 400meter relay team of Karlee Farr, Miranda Eichelberger, Whitney Blouch, and Sammi Yoder, high lighted the day with their school record performance of 51.4. The girls placed 3rd in the event. Blouch and Farr also moved onto the honor roll in the 100m to 5th and 8th respectively. Blouch placed 4th (12.8) and Farr 8th (12.9). In the field Mary Lynam added to the team point total with a Javelin throw of 97-5 to place 5th, and Kylee Bair ran to an 8th place finish in the 300h(51.1).

The boys team racked up a total of 65 points to place 4th in the meet. Omey Tibasima (Triple Jump of -3 4.75, #2 on the Donegal Honor Roll) and Griffin Libhart (200m 22.3, #3 on the Donegal Honor Roll) each won individual events. They also combined with Johnnie Martin and Sebastian Hall to win the 4x100 in a time of 43.2 (#2 on the Donegal Honor Roll). Johnnie Added to the team's point total with 2nd place finished in the 100m (10.9, #3 on the Donegal Honor Roll) and 200m (22.3, #3 on the Donegal Honor Roll). Joining Martin and Libhart on the medal stand and Donegal Hono Roll was Sebastian Hall. Hall Clocked a time of 22.8 to finish 6th.

Both the 4x400 and 4x800m relays also performed well. The 4x400m team (Johnnie Martin, Shawn Bhatti, Griffin Libhart, and Sebastian Hall) placed 4th and the 4x800m relay team (Michael Hiestand, Cole Rinhart, Tim Daly, and Austin Jantzi) placed 6th. Philip Hess also added to the team point total in the Javelin (7th, 140-7).

Boys and Girls Sweep meets at Columbia

Both boys and girl's teams had excellent meets vs Columbia. The boys won by a score of 102-47 and the girls won by a score of 102-36. Winning individual events were Mattea Fiske (Discus), Claudia Montealegre (Javelin), Jeanette Stoppard (Triple Jump),Bethany Gohn (2 mile), Kylee Bair (300 hurdles), Sydney Wareham (800m and 1600m), Karlee Farr (100 and 400m), and Whitney Blouch (200m). On ethe boys side winning individual events were: Omey Tibasima (TJ & HJ), Jonah Eisenhart (LJ), Johnnie Martin (100 & 400m), Cole Rinehart (1600m), Tim Daly (800m), Michael Hiestand (3200m), and Griffin Libhart (200m).

Bruce Dallas Invite at CV

Facing some tough early season competition, several athletes faired well on a windy day.

5 girls helped lead the team to 2 Donegal Honor Roll Top 10 All-Time performances. The 400m relay team of Karlee Farr, Whitney Blouch, Miranda Eichelberger, and Sammi Yoder combined to finish 7th at the meet and run the 4th fastest relay in school history with a time of 52.65. Kylee Bair ran the 5th fastest 300m hurdle race in school history and finished 12th with a time of 50.09.
Other girls competing were:
100m: Whitney Blouch(12th, 13.93) and Karlee Farr(16th, 14.10)
200m: Karlee Farr (10th, 27.95) and Sammi Yoder (15th 28.64)

For the boys, both Johnnie Martin and Griffin Libhart finished the day on the medal stand. In the In the 200m dash both excelled, Griffin Libhart (3rd, 23.31) and Johnnie Martin (5th, 23.69), and the 100m Johnnie Martin finished 4th(trials 11.77 & Finals 11.89)
Sebastian Hall also placed well in the 100 meters (7th, 11.94) just missing the finals.
A trio of boys distance runners each ran PR's, Tim Daly in the 800m (13th, 2:09.50), Michael Hiestand in the 1600m (14th, 4:51.67), and Cole Rinehart in the 3200m (9th, 10:28.35).
In the field, Jonah Eisenhart placed 9th in the Long Jump (19-8.5ft) and Trevor Arms placed 22nd in the Shot Put (37-1ft).

Boys & Girls at Annville

Both he girls and boys fell to Annville in a meet that featured some great idividual competitions. Johnnie Martin lead the boys with 2 individual 1st places in the 100m and 200m. The 200m time of 22.5 moved him up on the Donegal Honor Roll All-time Top Ten to #3. Martin also combined with S. Bhatti, S. Hall, And G, Libhart to run the 4x100m relay in 45.2, #6 on the alltime Top Ten Honor Roll. Meanwhile, in the field, Omey Tibasima out distanced the other jumpers to win a closely contested Triple jump.

On the girl's side, Mary Lynam (Jav, 93-5) and Karly Farr (200, 27.6) won individual 1st places and Kylee Bair ran a Donegal Honor Roll Top Ten time in the 300m hurdles of 50.9 (#9).

Boys & Girls win Home opener VS LC

Both the boys and girls teams opened the season with victories against Lancaster Catholic. The boys won 93 to 57 and the girls out paced their opponents 76 to 69.

Johnnie Martin(100m and 200m) lead the boys with two individual wins, and the boys ended up with 1st place in 7 other individual events from 7 different people. Taking 1st were: Griffin Libhart (400m), Michael Heistand (1600m), Cole Rinehart (3200m), Jonah Eisenhart (LJ), Omey Tibasima (TJ), Trevor Arms (shot), and Phil Hess (Javelin). Other highlights include the throwers taking 20 of 27 points possible, and sprinters weeping the 100 and sprint relays.

The girls were lead by Karly Farr's 3 individual 1st places. Also picking up 1st for the girls were: Sydney Wareham (800m), Mary Lynam (Javelin), and Sarah Smith (Discus). The girl Throwers won 19 of 27 points, and Donegal girls won all 3 relays. They earned sweeps in the javelin, 100m, 200m and 400m races.
