League Meet

Two throwers led the charge to medal at this years league championships. Jed Sweigart placed 2nd in the javelin with a throw of 177' 7". Bryce Sadler was the other thrower to medal placing 4th in the shot put.

The girls relay team team of Seneca Straub, Sami Stoner, Alayna DeBruin, and Laura Hess combined to run the 4x800, running the 4th fastest relay time in school history. Also running personal bests were Kylee Bair in the 300 hurdles and Firas Abu Adra in the 400m.

MT Blue Streaks Relays

Several athletes competed in track relays and combined field distances to compete against several schools from Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. The girls competed in 3 track events and earned medals in each the 4x200m relay, Sprint Medley, and Distance Medley. In the 4x200, Joy Bhatti, Kaylee Bair, Caroline Goodwill, and Kayla Walker combine for 4th place. In the Sprint Medley, Sarah Hollinger joined Walker, Bair, and Bhatti to place 6th. And the team of Seneca Straub, Baily Smith, Alayna DeBruin, and Sami Stoner cobined to place 5th in the distance medley.

The boys team came away with sevral medals too. In the field, Chris Grab and Bryce Sadler combine to place 3rd in the Shot Put and 5th in the javelin. In the Discus, Slaybach and Saolpry combined to place 4th. One the track, the sprint medley of Gainer, Adra, Wick and Summerville sprinted to a 5th place finish. Also 5th was the distance medley of Stanley, Sauder, Miller and King.

Battle for the Bridge

Friday night, under the lights, Donegal combined with Etown, Annville, and Columbia create team Lancaster to battle against 4 York County schools. The meet was scored as a dual meet between Lancaster and York with medals and ribbons being given through 6th place. The Lancaster team won on the girls side, but fell to York on the boys side in a close meet that came down to the last event.

Winning individual events were Metteah Fiske (disc), Jed Sweigart (jav), and Bryce Sadler (shot). For complete results, click here.

LMH Dual Meet

The boys fought hard and won a big victory vs LMH to finish the season with 3 wins and 3 losses. The girls' meet was decided on the very last event when Donegal won the 4x400m race to finish in a 75-75 point tie with LMH.

Millersville University Invite

The athletes running, theowing and jumping in the MU Invite survived a rainy evening. Before the rain came though, Nate King and Kaitlyn Diebler ran the 2000m steeple chase. Both placed 4th overall in their respective races with times of 7:02 and 8:53. In the javelin, Phil Hess continued to win another big meet with a throw of 177' 11". Jed Sweigart was right on his heels placing 2nd at 164' 2".Phil also placed 3rd in the discus. In the shot put, Bryce Sadler placed 5th with a throw of 45' 9". Adding to the boys' point total was Austin Dimler who jumped 20' 0" in the long jump to place 8th overall. Also on the girlsside, Sami Stoner placed 8th nin the 800m race with a time of 2:30.62 and Tess Fernald ran in the 3200m race with a time of 12:18.02 for #6 all time at Donegal

The boys team ended up placing 8th out of over 30 teams.

Northern Lebanon Home meet

The girls team won huge by scoring 126 points to NL's 15. Sami Stoner, Kylee Bair, and Kayla Walker won multiple events to lead the girls. The girls also won all three relays and every track anc field event contested. Alayana DeBruin also joined the all time Donegal top 10 list by running the 10th fastest mile in school history.

The boys lost a hard fought battle to a very good Northern Lebanon team 107-43. Heisey, Miller, Sauder and Stanley opened the meet by winning the 4x800m relay. After that, only Dana Stanley managed a win on the track winning the 800m. In the field, Bryce Sadler won the shot Put with a toss of 48 feet 10.5 inches, #5 all time at Donegal. Adding a victory in the field was Phil Hess in javelin.

Ship Invite

A few throwers and distance runners participated in this year's Ship Invite with positive results. The throwers ended up with enough points to place 9th overall. Phil Hess won the javelin with a throw of 177 feet. Placing 4th just behind him was Jed Sweigart with a throw of 172' 3", 6th longest in school history. In discus, Phil placed 5th overall with a throw of 139' 11", 5th best in Donegal school history. Elijah Schlayback placed 14th with a throw of 127'6" Bryce Sadler finished 7th in Shot (46") .

On the girls' side, the 3200m relay team of Sami Stoner, Seneca Straub, Alayna DeBruin, and Baily Smith placed 8th overall with a time of 10:31.55. Tess fernald ran the 32oom in a personal best of 12:28.87. Metteah Fiske threw 103' in the discus to place 15th.

Lancaster Catholic

The boys and girls won another dual meet, this week against Lancaster Catholic. The boys triumphed 93 to 57, and the girls won 108-42. The girls won all three relays and picked up first places from Bair ( 100mHH, 300 IM hurdles, Stoner (800m and 1600m), Bussard (Shot), Good (jav), Fiske (disc), and McNece (HJ).

The boys had victories by Hess (100m, disc), Sadler (shot and jav), AbuAdra (200m), Stanley (800m), King (mile and 2 mile), Dimler (LJ). They also won 2 of the 3 relays.

PanRam Invite at Central Dauphin

The throwers took advantage of the great weather Saturday to place several athletes on the awards stand. Phil Hess and Jed Sweigart both threw placing in the Javelin. Jed threw 165 feet for 5th place and Phil Hess was 2nd with a throw of 176' 1". Phil also placed 4th in the discus with a seson best 135' 8". Bryce Sadler was 4th with a throw of 46' 11.5" in the Shot Put and Matteah Fiske was 3rd with a throw of 108 feet 8 inches in the discus throw. This was the # 5 all time throw for a Donegal girl.

On the track, several athletes ran personal bests or season best times. Tess Fernald improved her # 7 All time Donegal honor roll time with a finish of 12:36.01. Kaitlyn Diebler and Nate King also ran a PRs in the 2 mile 13:13 and 10:48 respectively. The girls 4x800m realey team of Sami Stoner, Seneca Straub, Rachel LaBuda, and Alayna DeBruin ran a season best time of 10:36.11. Later, Seneca ran her personal best time in the 1600m with a time of 5:50.76. Also in the mile, Zach miller ran 5:00 for a personal best time. In the 400, Kayla Walker ran a season best time of 64.68.

Columbia Meet

Both the boys and girls' teams picked up their first dual meet wins of the season. The girls won 120-29 and the boys won 105-45.

CV Invite

This year's Bruce Dallas Invite at Cumberland Valley HS was a cold windy meet. Despite the windy conditions, Phil Hess was able to throw the javelin 172' 6" to place 2nd. Others with medal performances were Bryce Sadler (Shot, 44' 11") and Metteah Fiske (Disc, 99' 10"). Hannah Lloyd jumped her PR to break the freshman record in the triple jump with a leap of 30' 1". AC Meet

The boys team lost a very close meet to Annville 76-73, and the girls ran into a very good Annville team, losing 99-55.

On the track, Chris Wick (400m) and Nate King (3200m) were the lone individual winners. Louis Summerville, Tanner Shirk, Isaac Gainer, and Austin Dimler combined to win the 4x400m relay. In the field, 1st place finishes were Austin Dimler (LJ), Phil Hess(Jav and Disc), Bryce Sadler (Shot), and Mason Fox (TJ).

For the girls, Kylee Bair was a double winner in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles. Others placing 1st were Sami Stoner (mile), Tess Fernald (2mile), and Matteah Fiske (disc). Also, Hannah Lloyd set the freshman record in the triple jump with a jump of 29 feet 7 inches.

 

ELCO Meet

Bryce Sadler threw the 8th best Shot Put in school history with a throw of 45 feet 6 inches. He and the throwers came up big, scoring 23 of the 27 points in the throws, but boys team feel short of a win at ELCO losing 89 to 61. Also earning 1st places were the 4x100 team and jumpers, CHristian Bibler (HJ), Austin Dimler (LJ), and Mason Fox (TJ).

The girls team also fell short of a win, but had some great early season performances on the track. First place wins were picked up by the 4x400m relay, 4x800m relay, Kayla Walker (100, 200), Kylee Bair (300m hurdles), Alayna DeBruin (800m), and Tess Fernald (3200m).
