Section 3 Champions!!

District 3 Championships

Bryce Sadler had an incredible District meet performance. He threw 54' 7.5 " to win the gold medal and return to the state meet next weekend. Also qualifying for states was the 4x800m relay team of Sami Stoner, Alayna De Bruin, Seneca Straub, and Alice Fernald. The team ran a new school record of 9:34.69 and earned a 7th place medal. The time was also the time time in the league this year!!

League Meet

Alice Fernald and Sami Stoner walked away with several medals to lead the girls team. Alice medaled in the 400 individually placing 5th (61.23), and was on all three relays that medaled. She combined with Seneca Straub, Sami Stoner, and Alayna De Bruin in the 3200m relay that placed 2nd (9:44.05), Sami, Kayla Walker, and Carline Goodwill in the 1600m relay that placed 4th (4:10.22), and Kayla, Caroline, and Kaylee Fahndrich in the 400m relay that placed 6th (51.76). Sami Stoner placed 5th in the 1600m (5:17.33).

Adding to the team medal count on the boys side was Bryce Sadler with a 2nd place finish in the Shot Put (53' 0"). The other medal on the boys' side came from the 3200m relay team of Kadin Heisey, Zack Miller, Declan Barber, and Keith Atayde finishing 6th (8:24.38).

Northern Lebanon Me05

The girls team wrapped up their undefeated season by beating Northern Lebanon 118-31. It was the first time in school history the girls have captured a section title in track. Sami Stoner won the 800m and just missed the school record running a time of 2:22.6. Alayna De Bruin also joined her on the school honor Roll running the 5th fastest 3200m time in school history, 11:59.8.

The boys' team fell 106 to44 and closed the season with a 2-4 season. The boys 4x100 team increased their season best time to 44.7, 5th fastest in school history.

Battle for the Bridge

The weather was finally calm for a beatiful night at Eastern York. Donegal athletes ran several Top 10 School Honor Roll times. Sami Stoner and Alayna De Bruin ran the 2nd and 4th fastest times in school history in the 1600m, running 5:15 and 5:21 respectively.

Columbia Dual Meet

The boys and girls teams both added wins on Monday vs Columbia. The girls won 123 to 27, and the boys edged Columbia 125 to 24. Erin Slattery (High Hurdles & 300 hurdles), Alayna De Bruin (800m & Mile), and Hannah Lloyd (long jump & triple jump)were double winners. Erin's race was also a freshman record in the 300 hurdles and 10th fastest time in school history. Her time was 50.7. Other winners were Sami Stoner (400m), Kayla Walker (200m), Kaylee Fahndrich (100m), Kayla Nolan (shot), Alyssa McNece (jav), Kayla Forrey (pole vault).Additionally, Katelyn Deibler's time of 12:31.4 in the 2 mile was the 8th fastest in school history.
For the boys, winners were Tanner Shirk (100m), Louis Summerville (200m), Chris Wick(400m), Ryan Shaffer (high Hurdles), Zack Miller (800m & mile), Declan Barber (3200m), Austin Dimeler (HJ & long jump), Matt Bradfield (triple jump), Bryce Sadler (shot & disc), Nick Ketner (jav), and Davon Brantley (PV). Brooks Bear also set another freshman record with a throw of 42' 7" in the Shot Put.

Annville Dual Meet

The boys team picked up their 1st section meet of the year by beating a good Annville team, 85 to 65. The boys distance squad won 27 of their 32 points and were lead by Zach Miller winning the 800m and 1600m, and Declan Barber in the 3200m. The boys team also sweep all three relays. Others placing first were Brooks Bear (disc), Louis Summerville (200m), and Austin Dimeler (HJ). Brooks' throw of 125' 11 broke a 29 year freshman record in the discus.

The girls' squad ran their section record to 4-0 by routing the team they thought would be their toughest competition this season, 102.5 to 47.5. Erin Slattery picked up wins in both hurdle races, and Sami Stoner won the 800 and mile. The team also picked up all 3 relays, and the girls' 4x100m relay of Kaylee Fahndrich, Kayla Walker, Caroline Goodwill, and Alice Fernald ran the 5th fastest time in school history and 6th fastest in the league so far this year. Others picking up wins were Alice Fernald (400m), Tess Fernald (3200m), Kayla Nolan (disc), and Alyssa McNece (Jav).

Pan Ram Invite

Donegal Athletes traveled to Central Dauphin's Landis Field for some extremely high level competition with athletes running national level times. Sami Stoner had the highest place of the day finishing 4th in the 800m with a time of 2:28.13. She also combined with Alayna De Bruin, Seneca Straub, and Kaitlyn Deibler to place 5th in th 3200m relay (10:28.79). Alyana placed 8th in the mile(5:30.14), Seneca placed 11th in the mile (5:39.47), and Kaitlyn competed in the open 800m (2:44.96). Also in distance, Tess Fernald ran 12:38.57 in the 2 mile.
For the girl sprints, the 4x100m team of Alice Fernald, Kalee Fahndrich, Carline Goodwill, and Kayla Walker placed 9th with a time of 53.49. Walker and Fahndrich also placed 13th and 14th in the 100m with times of 13.07 and 13.17. In the 400m Alice ran 66.09 and Carline ran 66.68. The female hurdlers ran both the 100m high hurdles and 300m hurdles. Erin Slattery posted times of 19.54 and 53.24, and Kodee Bair ran times of 20.65 and 61.01.
In the field, Joquia Ruhl jumped 12' 4.25" in the long jump and Hannah Williams jumped 11' 5" . Kayla Nolan had a mark of 26' 10.75" in the shot, and team mate Arianna Bowers threw 25' 10.5". They each also threw disc with distances of 76' 6" Kayla and 67' 2" for Arianna. In the javelin, Amanda Robinson threw 83' 9". Results

On the boys side, Firas Abu Adra turned in the highest finish of the day for Donegal placing 11th in the 400m with a time of 54.26. He was followed closely by Chris Wick with a time of 54.62. In the 100m dash, Tanner Shirk ran a time of 11.71 and Austin Dimeler ran 12.11. Thry combined with Wick and Louis Summerville to post a time of 46.81 for the 400m relay. Also in the sprints, Firas ran a 300m hurdle time of46.24 and was followed closely by Calvin Woods with a time of 48.05.
The distance squad had runners in the mile, 800, and 4x800m relay. Zach Miller ran 4:57.12 and Declan Barber ran 5:06.30 in the mile. The 800m was competed by Kaiden Heisey in 2:16.83 and Keith Atayde in 2:18.82. The four boys combined to run 9:20.33 in the relay.
In the field, Brooks Bear competed in all three throws, the javelin(115' 2"), shot(36' 11.5"), and discus(108' 1"). He was joined by Nick Ketner in the javelin (117' 9") and Mario Marshall in the Discus(95' 8"). In the jumps, Austin Dimeler competed in the high jump (5' 6") and long Jump (18' 4.75"), Matt Bradfield in the long jump (16' 9.75") and triple jump (39' 2.5"), and Dakarai Daniels in the triple jump(36' 2"). In the pole vault, Nick Roden vaulted a height of 9'6". Results

Lancaster Catholic

On a warmer, but rain ending meet, the girls team ran their record to 3 wins no losses, winning 99-50, and the boys fell in a close meet to Lancaster Catholic.

Four girls ran ran times that placed them on the All-time Top 10 Donegal Honor Roll. In the mile, Sami Stoner ran 5:27.2 (# 5 Donegal Honor Roll), Alayna De Bruin (5:31.2, #7), and Seneca Straub (5:38.0, #10). In the 100, Kayla Walker was clocked at 12.8 (Tied for #6) Additionally, Alayna also finished the 2 mile in 12:33.1 for the #8 best time on the Donegal Honor Roll.

Bruce Dallas Invite

Several athletes traveled to Cumberland Valley HS for some high level early season competition. In the mile, Sami Stoner place second (5:35.36) and Seneca Straub placed fifth (5:41.25). Both girls' times were good enough to place them 6th and 10th respectively on the top 10 all time Honor Roll at Donegal. Also in the distance events, Alayna De Bruin ran 2:34.89 (800m), Audry Llyod ran 2:46.52 (800m), Tess Fernald posted a time of 12:58.06 (2 mile), and Kaitlyn Diebler finished in 13:06.06 (2 mile).

In the sprints, running into a head wind, Kayla Walker ran 13.79 in the 100 m followed by Carline Goodwill (14.47). For the boys, also in a stiff head wind,Louis Summerville ran 12.50 (100m) and Tanner Shirk ran 12.66. The girls' 4x100m relay dropped their season best time to 54.52, and the boys' posted a season best 46.84. In the 400 m dash, Alice Fernald fiinished in 66.02 and Walker ran 67.67. For the boys in the 400m dash, Firas Abu Adra sprinted 55.25 with Chris Wick at 55.52 at his heels. Erin Slatttery hurdled the 300m times in 53,51, and Kodee Bair after falling finished in a time of 64.70.

In the field, Hannah Lloyd long jumped (14-01) and triple jumped (30-8.5) . Jumping for the boys were, Austin Dimeler (19-2.75, LJ) and Matt Bradfield (38-7, TJ). Throwing was Bryce Sadler (134-8, Jav) and Nick Ketner (111-6, Jav). Meet Results

ELCO MEET

The girls' team ran their record to 2-0 with a big win over ELCO, 88-62. On the track, Donegal swept the 3 relays, and Sami Stoner and Kayla Walker each picked up two individual first place finishes. Also placing first on the track was Alice Fernald in the 400m. In the field, Alyssa McNece (jav) and Kayla Nolan (disc) picked up individual wins.

On the boys side, points were a little tougher to come by in a 100-50 loss to ELCO. Picking up individual wins were Austin Dimeler (Long jump, high jump), Bryce Sadler (shot), Nick Roden (pole vault), and Matt Bradfield (triple jump).
Girls' and Boys Results

First Meet at Lancaster Mennonite

The first meet at LMH was chilly, but was a great day for the Indians. Athletes had many great performances and there were surprises all over the track and the field. The girls' team won 103-46. Ariana Bowers, Kylee Fahndrich, and Sami Stoner lead the team with two first place finishes each. Arianna won the Shot and Disc, Kylee won the 100m and 200m dashes, and Sami won the 800 and mile.The Fernald sisters also helped the team pick up 2 more first place finishes on the track with Alice winning the 400 and Tess winning the 2 mile. Also placing first were Hannah Lloyd (Triple Jump), Kayla Forrey (Pole Vault), Alyssa McNece (Javelin), the 400m relay and the 1600m relay

The boys team came close to beating LM, but fell 73 to 68. Placing first were Bryce Sadler (Shot, Disc, Jav), Wilson Loja (pole vault), Calvin Woods (300m hurdles), Austin Dimeler (long jump), and Matt Bradfield (triple jump) Noteable, the throwers were 1 point away from a complete sweep.
